Bamboo Rice - short grained highly nutritious seeds collected from the bamboo flowers by the tribals of Wayanad in Kerala. Bamboo flowers once in 40-60 years and often die after flowering and releasing its treasured seeds. Bamboo Rice has higher protein, vitamins and fiber contents than rice and wheat. A low glycemic index grain controls blood sugar level, supports joint functions, balances cholesterol levels, good in vitamin deficiency.
Bamboo Rice can be steam cooked and consumed like regular rice. It can be used to make porridge, kheer etc.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Keep the container airtight after opening the seal.
