100% Organic Bamboo Plain Fabric – 110–120 GSM, RFD, 44" & 58" Width.
This 100% organic bamboo plain fabric is designed for brands, garment manufacturers, and importers who need a soft, breathable base fabric with a clear sustainable story for global markets. With a GSM of 110–120, it offers a light, comfortable hand feel that works well for shirts, dresses, kidswear, linings, lounge and resortwear in both summer and trans-seasonal collections.
The plain weave construction gives a clean, stable surface that takes solid colours, digital prints, and value-add processes like embroidery and garment dyeing very well. Supplied in RFD (Ready for Dye) form, the fabric is pre-processed for even dye uptake, so it can go directly into production with natural dyes or azo-free dyes, supporting cleaner, more responsible dyeing workflows for export markets.
Machine wash cold or hand wash at a maximum of 30°C, dry in shade only, and use a low-temperature iron if needed.

1. What is 100% organic bamboo plain fabric?
This is a woven fabric made from 100% organic bamboo fibre in a plain weave, with a weight of about 110–120 GSM and a 58" cuttable width (also made in 44"). It’s used as a soft, breathable base cloth for clothing and lifestyle products.
2. What can I make with this bamboo fabric?
It works well for shirts, relaxed dresses, kidswear, light linings, lounge sets, and resortwear. The weight is light enough for summer but still usable in trans‑seasonal collections.
3. How does this fabric feel on the skin?
The fabric feels smooth, cool, and soft, with a comfortable drape. At 110–120 GSM it is light but not flimsy, so it doesn’t feel see‑through in most colours.
4. Is this bamboo fabric breathable for hot weather?
Yes. Bamboo-based fabrics are known for good airflow and moisture absorbency, so they usually feel cooler and drier than many similar‑weight cotton wovens in warm or humid climates.
5. Is it safe for sensitive skin and kidswear?
Generally yes. Bamboo viscose fabrics are smooth and non‑scratchy, which makes them suitable for childrenswear and next‑to‑skin garments when dyed and finished with compliant chemicals.
6. What does “plain weave” mean here?
Plain weave is the simplest over–under pattern. It gives a clean, stable surface that cuts easily and takes dye, print, and embroidery in a predictable way.
7. Is the fabric supplied RFD (Ready for Dye)?
Yes. It is pre‑processed and delivered RFD, so it can go straight into production for solid dye, digital print, or garment dye without extra scouring/bleaching steps.
8. Can I use natural dyes or azo‑free dyes on this fabric?
You can. The RFD base is suitable for natural dyes and azo‑free reactive systems, which is important for EU/US regulations such as REACH and OEKO‑TEX driven requirements.
9. How does 100% bamboo fabric compare to cotton fabric?
Compared with regular cotton, bamboo usually feels softer, has higher moisture regain, and stays cooler on the skin, while still behaving like a normal cellulosic woven in cutting and sewing.
10. Is this bamboo fabric really “sustainable”?
The fibre comes from bamboo, a fast‑growing, renewable plant that typically uses less water than many traditional crops. Actual sustainability still depends on the viscose process, effluent treatment, and any certifications in the supply chain.
11. Is the fabric biodegradable?
Bamboo viscose is a regenerated cellulosic fibre and can be biodegradable under the right conditions. Final biodegradability also depends on finishes, coatings, prints, and trims used in the garment.
12. What is Ayurkruti’s minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
The MOQ is 5 metres. This is useful for sampling, small runs, or testing new styles without committing to large volumes.
13. Do you offer wholesale or bulk pricing for larger quantities?
Yes. When an order goes above 100 metres, wholesale or bulk pricing applies, which suits brands, manufacturers, and sourcing agents planning production runs.
14. Can I print on this fabric (digital or screen)?
You can use both digital printing and traditional screen printing on this RFD plain weave. It’s still best practice to run a strike‑off to check colour yield, handle, and fastness for each design.
15. Is it good for embroidery and value‑add work?
Yes. The stable plain weave supports embroidery and garment dye; the main point is to test stitch density and backing so that the fabric doesn’t pucker or feel stiff.
16. Does this fabric shrink or twist after washing?
Some shrinkage is normal for lightweight cellulosic wovens. Pre‑washing or sanforising before cutting helps control this so finished garments stay close to spec.
17. Is this fabric a good choice for lounge and resortwear?
Yes. The mix of light weight, breathability, and smooth touch makes it comfortable for relaxed lounge pieces and resort styles worn in warmer climates.
18. How does it fit into plant‑based and cellulose‑based fabric ranges for brands?
Because it’s made from bamboo, a plant‑derived, regenerated cellulosic fibre, this fabric works well alongside other plant‑based fabrics from a plant based fabric supplier in India or any cellulose based fabrics supplier supporting eco‑driven collections.
