Pineapple Modal Satin Fabric 110 GSM | 50% PALF 50% Modal | Plant-Based Alternative to Polyester Satin | 58 Inch RFD
Most satin on the market is polyester. It shines, but it traps heat, feels slippery against the skin and never really breaks down once the garment is discarded. We made this satin for womenswear brands that want the same smooth, glossy surface from plant fibers. It is woven from 50% pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) and 50% modal, runs 110 GSM and 58 inches wide, and carries a premium finish that gives a soft, even sheen instead of a harsh, plastic shine.
On the cutting table and on the body, it performs the way designers expect from a good satin. Modal gives it a soft hand, an easy drape and real breathability, so dresses and nightwear stay comfortable through a long day. The pineapple fiber adds strength and a clean luster that makes the surface look richer. It is light enough for slip dresses, blouses, skirts, co-ord sets, scarves and lingerie, and it cuts and sews without losing its shape. Since both fibers are plant-based, it also fits sustainable, biodegradable and vegan collections.
The fabric ships as an RFD (ready for dyeing) base. From there we can dye it with natural, azo-free dyes or print it by screen or digital printing, and our garment manufacturing unit can take it all the way to finished pieces, so you can deal with one supplier from fabric to final product. The minimum order is 5 meters for RFD fabric, which works for samples and small collections, and custom dyeing starts at 50 meters. Orders above 100 meters get better pricing, and for orders above 500 meters we supply an EPFC certificate. It is a premium fabric at a fair price, and pineapple-modal satin is something few suppliers can offer. Machine wash cold or hand wash at a maximum of 30°C, dry in shade only, and use a low-temperature iron if needed.
